On Friday Bristol Grammar School’s Great Hall was the scene of a Homeric epic performance. Lasting over fifteen hours, staff and students from the University of Bristol Classics Department joined two hundred Bristol Grammar School students, teachers, ex-students, parents, and others to read sixty lines each of Homer’s Odyssey. The reading began at 6.30am and continued throughout the school day – ending around 9.50pm. The event was a great success, although the death of Argus elicited a few tears...
