23 April 2013
The poet Alice Oswald will be reading from her poem, Memorial: An Excavation of the Iliad.
On April 24 the award-winning poet Alice Oswald will be reading from her 2011 poem, Memorial: An Excavation of the Iliad. This event has been organized with the generous support of the Bristol Institute for Greece, Rome and the Classical Tradition, and of the Bristol Poetry Institute. The event forms part of a research project based in the Schools of Modern Languages and Humanities concerned with the question of 'Deep Time'. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear a contemporary poet perform her own work and speak about how she interacts with the deepest elements of poetic tradition. The time will be 5.30 pm, the venue LT3 in the Arts Complex. There will be a reception afterward.
