South Bristol

From the hilltops of colourful Totterdown to the ethereal beauty of Arnos Vale Garden Cemetery, dip below the river to find a special part of Bristol. From local markets to community orchards, South Bristol is well worth a visit.

Quirky shops, trendy bars and an abundance of street art line Bedminster’s North Street, while the Tobacco Factory is renowned for its theatre.

Wander the Malago Greenway through grassy slopes and suburbs, stopping to feed the goats at Windmill Hill City Farm, and enjoy a picnic in Victoria Park.

The area is well known for its art trails. Local artists open their houses to the public each year for 'Front Rooms', while graffiti festival Upfest is the largest in Europe.

Renting in Bristol

Students and staff can find out about renting privately in Bristol from the Accommodation Office.

Totterdown's a really nice area and the people who live there that I have met all seem friendly and smiley. It's a great location for the train station and the bus services into town - up to Park Street and Stoke Bishop. My walk to work is around 45 minutes, which on a sunny day is a nice walk crossing Queen Square. We live around 5 minutes walk from Arnos Vale, which is a stunning park with the cemetery right next to it as well. The cemetery is a perfect walk and extremely scenic.
