Cross-University collaborations

The University of Bristol has built excellent research and education partnerships with top Chinese Universities, including Tsinghua, Peking, Zhejiang, Shanghai Jiao Tong, Sun Yat Sen and Nankai. Our education partnerships foster academic collaboration between Bristol and our Chinese partners and offer the opportunity for students to seamlessly progress from their studies in China onto degrees at the University of Bristol with ease. 

Scholarships

The University has a strong relationship with the China Scholarship Council. 2017 saw the introduction of the China Scholarships Council – University of Bristol Joint-funded PhD Scholarship Programme, enabling high-calibre Chinese students to conduct full-time PhD study at Bristol. Every year, the programme provides 60 fully funded PhD scholarships for up to 48 months of research.

Opportunities for UK students in China

There are also several opportunities in China for home students to join. These programmes reflect the increasing level of interest that our students have for China, particularly towards cultural understanding and professional experience.

Students have had access to a number of China-focused opportunities, both in person and virtually. These have included internships in Shenzhen and intensive language and culture programmes with partner institutions in China.
