Dr. Jocelyn Peach

Jos was sponsored by the Science and Technology Facilities Council and spent her time probing the physico-chemical properties of colloidal systems in supercritical carbon dioxide, in the hope to break boundaries in the development of viscosifying agents for surfactant based, water-in-carbon dioxide microemulsions. This unusual and diverse area of research guided Jos' research interests further into the realms of soft matter and self-assembled structures, primarily the formation and characterisation of organogels, small-angle neutron scattering (both ambient and under high pressure) and rheology.‌

When not spending a vast amount of time dealing with the significant amount of resulting data from these techniques, Jos is an avid snowsports enthusiast, enjoys going on adventures and learning magic tricks.
