Project Title: Building Digital Biomarker for Parkinson’s Disease with AI-enabled Camera

Supervisors:

Prof Majid Mermehdi, School of Computer Science

Dr Alessandro Masullo, School of Engineering Mathematics and Technology

General Profile:

In 2021, I graduated from a joint Bachelor program of QMUL and BUPT, majoring in Internet of Things. During 4 years of undergraduate study, I learned essential technical details on how data is collected, transmitted, stored and analyzed. In 2022, I took one step further and did a one-year Masters program at King College London, majoring in Artificial Intelligence.

During my time at King's, I dabbled in medical image analysis with deep learning, particular in self-supervised learning and few-shot learning. While the individual project for my Masters program is about semantic segmentation of abdominal organs' MRI scans, my interest is not limited in computer vision. Generally, I am looking forward to providing effective solutions to real-world, health-related problems using machine learning and deep learning.

Also, I am also very interested in the interpretability of AI (XAI), which not only is important to address the ethical and moral concerns of medical application of AI, but also could help developing models with better performance. I hope I can develop a solid background in health and medical science here at the University of Bristol.
