Light from distant worlds
Bristol astrophysics researchers, Hannah Wakeford and Lili Alderson, have been working with the international Transiting Exoplanet Community Early Release Science Program to analyse data from the largest telescope in space. Using the latest data from NASA, we've been helping to uncover the first evidence of sulphur dioxide in an exoplanet atmosphere - a molecule produced from the same kind of chemical reactions that created the Earth's ozone layer.
These discoveries are a significant step forward in answering pressing questions about the origins of our own planet, helping us understand the future of our world.
