A special talk by James Thornton, CEO ClientEarth.

Taking the Law into our own Hands: how citizens are using the law to stop climate change. The most pressing problem facing civilization is climate change. Governments and companies are not acting fast enough. But citizens can use the power of the law to drive change. Drawing on the work of ClientEarth and others, James Thornton explores how we can use the law to stop coal fired power plants, take diesel off the road, require companies and countries to be better climate actors, and much more. Climate change often feels disempowering. Combined with global student demonstrations, skilful use of the law is a lever that can move the world.
