A talk by Dr Rajesh Tandon. UNESCO Co-Chair of Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education

Amidst rapid developments of the University campuses, infrastructure, new approaches to teaching and research, we are also redefining our relationship with our local and global communities. How do we respond to this pace of change, whilst remaining true to our core values as educators and researchers?  We hope you can join us for this rare opportunity to hear Rajesh’s reflections about working locally whilst addressing global challenges, and the role of universities in this.

Dr Rajesh Tandon will bring a global perspective, not just as a UNESCO Co-Chair of Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, but also share his experience of setting up participatory research and teaching as well as international networks and initiatives thatpromote authentic and participatory development of societies.

The talk will be introduced by Prof Guy Orpen and followed by Q&As and a drinks reception.  We will be showcasing some of the great engaged research and teaching practice from across the University to inspire and spark up conversations.
