In this exciting meander through a world of invisible hazards we will examine the sources of radioactivity in the world around us, visit historic characters who mined radioactive rocks in Cornwall and adventure into the Fukushima Fallout zone with the help of robots.

This inaugural lecture will examine the global opportunities and challenges presented by atomic energy, assisted by superheroes and introducing a never-ending battery made from radioactive waste trapped inside a diamond.
