Celebrating the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher Education
We're pleased to announce a very special public event to celebrate the University of Bristol's world-leading volcanology research and its recent award of the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Higher Education.
We will be holding a panel event with world-leading Cabot Institute academics from across the volcanology research area at the university in what promises to be an incredibly fascinating event.
To kick off the event, Professor Steve Sparks FRS will give an introductory talk volcanic emergencies and eruptions and how they affect people around the world, including us in the UK. He will also cover what happens during the largest volcanic eruptions on Earth and how these can effect society and the climate long term.

- Professor Katharine Cashman FRS (School of Earth Sciences)
- Dr Caroline Williams (School of Modern Languages)
- Dr Ryerson Christie (School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies)
