Sustainable Development Goals - Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
26 July 2016, 12.00 PM - 26 July 2016, 1.30 PM
Link 2, 3 - 5 Woodland Road
Following a series of workshops on the Global Challenges Research Fund, and the adoption of the universal Sustainable Development Goals, Elizabeth Fortin (Law) and Philippa Bayley (Cabot Institute) are running a series of informal events to build momentum and community at UoB in the broad area of 'development'.
From 31st May we will be running fortnightly discussions inspired by the themes of the SDGs. We will progress through the SDG themes in order, and at each one we will invite two academics from different Schools and Faculties to give a 15 minute presentation on their work. The focus of the work can be UK or international.
The talks will invite people to think about what their own discipline might bring to such an area of research, and identify common threads, questions that are raised, and potential projects for Global Challenges or other funding.
To see when the events are happening, who is presenting, or to sign up to present, please see this Google sheet.
If you would like to attend, please register via the Eventbrite. Please note this event is only open to research staff at the University of Bristol.
Please feel free to bring your lunch. Note you will need your access cards to get into the building.
