The new Sustainable Development Goals: can they be achieved and what role can we all play?

After years of negotiation and political wrangling, an unprecedented number of countries agreed the Sustainable Development Goals in New York last month, adopting a new global framework for development to eradicate poverty and promote sustainable patterns of consumption and production. 
 
This talk will explain what the SDGs are, and why they represent such a shift in approach to international development, as well as outlining some of the challenges and obstacles we now in implementing the SDGs framework and concluding with some of the implications for each of us, whether in developed or developing countries.
