What is a 'Smart City'? Can technology transform the urban environment for the better, and revolutionise the way people and places interact? The Inside Track launch event for 2015 brings together experts from academia and industry to debate an issue that is set to affect everyone.

Dimitra Simeonidou, Professor of High Performance Networks at the University of Bristol and Chief Technology Officer at Bristol Is Open will be chairing the debate. The panellists are:

  • Joan A. Garcia Espin - Platform Delivery Director, Bristol Is Open
  • Paul Martin - Chief Technology Officer, Plextek
  • Rob Piechocki - Senior Lecturer, CSN Research Group, University of Bristol
  • Ann Cousins - Senior Consultant, ARUP

The engineering industry lecture and seminar series is called 'The Inside Track.' The brief of the Inside Track lectures is for an engineer to give an insight (the 'inside track') on a particular industry or type of career. The seminars are focused on careers and employability issues and they are run jointly with the University's Careers Service.
