Honourable friends? Parliament and the fight for change
Caroline Lucas
At-Bristol, Anchor Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5DB
In 2010 Caroline Lucas gained access to the country’s most exclusive club – Parliament – and became a witness to its absurdities, inefficiencies and uniquely baffling customs. As a woman, and as the only Green MP in the 2010-2015 parliament Lucas is an outsider in an elitist member’s club fossilized by tradition and self-interest, fighting for change. She describes what it is like to defend the interests of her constituents, to challenge the establishment and to balance the demands of work and family with a radical political mission.
