Cabot Institute global development day

12 February 2015, 10.00 AM - 12 February 2015, 4.00 PM

Room 4.10, Graduate School of Education, 35 Berkeley Square, Bristol

Bristol has a unique opportunity to bring exceptional scientists and social scientists together and form a shared response to global development challenges. Across the university, there are experts fully engaged in development research, but there are also many others conducting excellent research in health, food, water or other areas that could be usefully applied in a development context.

This day seeks to bring active and interested communities together, identify areas of strength, share experiences, and explore current funding opportunities together. The day will be highly practical and focussed on outcomes - developing new collaborations and joint interests with the potential for funding.

If you are working in development, or even if you have nothing to do with 'development' but think your research could be used in a developing context, please register (see link below).

Please note

  • The day will include a 'big question' session. This is an opportunity for you to present (in 2 slides!) a big question that you are interested in forming collaborations around.  If you would like to present, please ensure you register to give a presentation in the link below. Presenters will be chosen on a first come first served basis.
  • This event will run from 10 am - 4 pm.
  • This event is open to UoB staff and postdocs only, however if you are a keen UoB PhD student, you are welcome to attend.
