Merle Patchett (School of Geographical Sciences) is giving this as part of the Best of Bristol Lecture Series.

We live on a human-damaged planet. So much so that scientists worldwide are increasingly recognizing this period of human disturbance of the Earth's ecosystems as a new geologic epoch named the Anthropocene. In this lecture we will explore this provocation by visiting some of world's most human-disturbed landscapes and by asking ourselves if we can continue to inhabit the earth in this way?
