Project You: Making the most of funding opportunities, networking, and collaboration in Social Science research
As a postgraduate researcher (PGR) you are encouraged to think about the ‘impact’ of your research, and to explore opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. You may already be thinking about ways to achieve this such as working on a community project or engaging with policy makers, but it’s not always easy to figure out what the options are, what would work best for you, or where to go for support.
If you are a first or second year postgraduate researcher working in a Social Sciences field or you are based in another area (particularly the Medical Sciences) with a social science aspect to your research, then this is a unique opportunity to find out how to make the most of the various support initiatives and funding schemes available at the University of Bristol.
This event brings together four Bristol-based initiatives; Cabot Institute, Elizabeth Blackwell Institute, Policy Bristol, and the South West Doctoral Training Centre (SWDTC), each of which offers a range of services designed to help PGRs explore opportunities for engagement, impact, collaboration, and interdisciplinary research.
Through a combination of short presentations and an interactive workshop this event will help you to ‘join the dots’ between these services. Whether you already have an idea, or you just want to find out what your options are, come and talk to some of the support initiatives who can help to make it happen!
Drinks and nibbles will be provided for discussions to continue from 4 pm - 5pm.
For further information and to register to attend please visit the Doctoral College Events page.
Note: This event is only open to postgraduates at the University of Bristol.
