A Pint of Science talk by Prof Paul Weaver
Composite materials combine two or more constituents to produce a material with better characteristics than their component parts. Initially developed for the aerospace industry, their use in recent years has expanded to automotive, energy and consumer sectors. Benefits are seen when materials can be tailored for specific structural applications. This session will focus on the potential for shape changing structures and their applications across a broad range of industries.
