Christopher Smith from NEAS Energy will be giving this Cabot Institute lunch time seminar, in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bristol.

Abstract

Review of the sources and technologies that generate renewable electricity in the UK. From the original power generation sources developed under the first government support schemes and are now becoming non supported technologies.  To the sources that have progressed under the Renewable Obligations scheme and the impact they have had on traditional types of power generation and wholesale market prices in the UK and Europe.  Finally the future generation sources for the UK and positive and negative impact on the UK market from a sustainability and price perspective.
