Entering the Ecological Age – the Engineer's Role
Thursday 21st July
5.30pm -7.00pm
Pugsley lecture theatre
The lecture will be given by Peter Head CBE FREng FRSA, a Consultant with Arup, Chairman of the Institute of Sustainability, and CEO of the Ecological Sequestration Trust. It will outline the challenges facing society in the context of climate change and a burgeoning world population. It will review the major changes required in the development of infrastructure, policy and the role of the engineer, to enable climate change issues to be tackled in urban and rural areas, in both developing and developed countries, with a particular emphasis on China.
This is part of a larger project, the visit of the winning team of Dynamic Designs China to Bristol and the event will include a short presentation by these inspirational students. The talks will be followed by a drinks reception in the Pugsley foyer.
Please email Emma Wood as soon as possible if you would like to attend.
