Wokai launch party

Wokai is a non-profit organisation that works via an online platform to support microfinance in China and aims to create opportunity through small business loans and help alleviate poverty.

This Monday, 7th March, there will be a Bristol University-based charity launch party to celebrate the opening of the Bristol branch and tell people about the work Wokai are doing. In attendance will be the Deputy Mayor of Bristol, Bristol city councillors, UK Trade & Investment, British China Business Council, the head of corporations, local media, Bristol University staff as well as entrepreneurs and financial professionals.

7pm: Arrival and wine reception

7.30pm: Welcome and opening speech from the deputy Mayor of Bristol

Presentation of Global Microfinance and China Development, by British China Business Council and Economics Department

Presentation on Wokai and Wokai Bristol mentor-mentee fundraising program

8.30pm: Networking session between professionals and students and Chinese Art auction fundraising

9pm: Business dinner after party at a local prestigious Chinese restaurant.
