Creative Commission Opportunity: Visualising future energy systems

We are seeking a visual artist (illustrator), who is passionate about sustainable energy, coproduction and technology, to collaborate with university researchers, community energy practitioners and Bristol citizens over the course of this summer!

You will have a strong track record of socially engaged art practice and an ability to straddle between social and technological worlds. Over two months this summer, you will coproduce a series of creative representations of smart local energy systems. The outputs will illustrate the possibilities of the devices, networks and people involved in the future energy. They will be co-produced with researchers, community energy practitioners and Bristol citizens in a process involving negotiation between technical accuracy, the level of detail and space for artistic expression of future uncertainty.

Summary:
1 x visual arts focused commission (preferably illustration)

Commission fee: £6000 (£5250 for artist time and £750 for materials).

Application deadline: 9th July 5pm 2021 with interviews held w/c 12th July 2021.

Start date: July 2021
