Brigstow Institute Funding Calls are open for 2024/25

Brigstow Funding calls open

21 July 2024

Both of Brigstow Institute's annual funding schemes, the Ideas Exchange and Seedcorn Funding, have been opened for applications for the 2024-25 year.

Ideas exchange funding

There is no deadline for this funding.

Brigstow’s Ideas Exchange funding enables the right people to get together to learn from each other, identify shared research interests and plan the next steps. It is designed to support emerging, interdisciplinary networks and partnerships that are co-designed and co-run with people within and outside of Academia. Ideas exchanges give new partnerships the time and resources to connect with others and explore the idea’s potential together to identify shared research interests and plan the next steps.

We welcome applications for Ideas Exchanges on any topic related to the complexities of our timeWe are interested in a central novel and exciting idea, and the potential for it to develop later into a research project.

Seedcorn Funding

Deadline: Thursday 7 November 2024 11.30am

Brigstow Seedcorn funding is an opportunity for mixed teams of researchers to carry out curiosity-driven, playful, exploratory and equitable projects to take the first steps in developing and pursuing new research. We especially welcome applications from teams that might find it difficult to find early-stage funding because of the novelty of the ideas, methods or approaches.

Funding Highlight: Welfare State International archive and community wellbeing

We welcome applications that explore any aspect of the complexities of our time, but are especially interested in receiving applications that explore wider notions of community wellbeing, and that reflect upon and use the content of the Welfare State International (WSI) archive that is held in the University of Bristol’s Theatre Collections.
