New innovation funding to help people live longer, better, healthier lives

15 March 2018

£300 million from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund will provide opportunities for researchers and businesses to work together to support the UK’s ageing population.

There will be new opportunities for UK researchers to apply for funding to develop new products and services that support people as they get older. They want to draw on the expertise of the UK research base and leading industry to innovate and keep people fit, well and active for longer.

The new funding will help meet the needs of an ageing society - one of four grand challenges to get funding under the Industrial Strategy Fund, part of government’s Industrial Strategy.
