Calling UoB health researchers to collaborate with local people and artists to create Fun Palaces!
31 May 2017
The Elizabeth Blackwell Institute for Health Research (EBI) is the new host for a Fun Palaces Ambassador, Ellie Shipman, who will be working in the Public Engagement team to help foster new collaborations between our health researchers and local artists, makers and community groups as part of a global campaign to bring arts, science and the public together.
Fun Palaces will connect people and knowledge from across Bristol to explore health topics from air pollution to sustainability, food, wellbeing and more. Fun Palaces could be anything from a community fete, pop-up stall, workshop, talk, event or anything else you can imagine! Fun Palaces will take place in the run up and over the weekend of the 7th and 8th October in the focus areas of Lawrence Hill and Avonmouth and across the city.
Being part of a Fun Palace you could:
Gain public engagement experience
Be part of exciting creative collaborations to visualise your research in new ways
Receive feedback and input on your research from community groups
Make new connections and help bridge the gap between the university and the public
Nurture new multi-disciplinary partnership opportunities
Find out more about your local communities and Bristol
