Art of Science 2020

20 July 2020

"Ophelia loved creating the project and was a great way of focusing on something in this intense time"

The Art of Science Exhibition has been run virtually this year. This has allowed us to reach more participants from local schools in the South West region and even have a couple of submissions from the USA and New Zealand! Organised by Dr Caroline McKinnon and Dr Holly Baum, the aim was to give pupils something fun to focus on during the unprecedented times.

With over 70 submissions from school pupils, it was our most successful exhibition to date. The "Under the Sea" theme for pupils resulted in a wonderful variety of drawings, videos, models and paintings - all of which can be viewed on Twitter at @UoB_ArtSci.

Our judges, Dr Ore Francis, Dr Nicola Stevenson and Claire Noble had some tough decisions, but the winners were revealed to be:

4-6 years
1st Place - Under the Sea Pollution - Pippa
2nd Place - Willow fish - George
3rd Place - Sea Ocean Explorers - Ted
