Art of Science 2020

Bethan Lloyd-Lewis – Stemming the flow

20 July 2020

The annual Art of Science Exhibition has been run virtually this year. Organised by Dr Caroline McKinnon and Dr Holly Baum, Art of Science showcases the amazing artwork from staff and students within the University.

The judge for the University Staff and Students category was Helen Wilson-Roe, a local artist who was behind the "A brush with immortality" exhibition, which highlights the story of Henrietta Lacks and the establishment and use of the HeLa cell line. HeLa cells remain the most commonly used cell line in laboratories around the world and it is important that their origins are acknowledged. More on Helen's work on this issue can be found here  http://www.helenwilsonroe.com/

So, without further ado, we are pleased to announce that in 1st place is Stemming the Flow - Bethan Lloyd-Lewis, 2nd place goes to Night vigil - Sue Summerill and in 3rd place is Blue Planet? - Jack HolcombeCongratulationsto you all!
