A Level students celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science

A Level Biology students from Galicia, Spain video conference with Dr Sara Alvira de Celis.
To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11th), 1st year ‘A’ level Biology students from the IES A Pinguela de Monforte De Lemos, Galicia, Spain, participated in a video conference with Dr Sara Alvira de Celis. Sara spoke about ‘Antibiotics and Superbugs’, focussing on their nature and classes, different ways antibiotics act, bacterial resistance and the importance of finding other ways to combat these bacteria.
Sara also spoke to students about her experiences as a researcher and how stimulating it is to work in the world of science and participate in projects around the world.
International Day of Women and Girls in Science aims to encourage students to pursue scientific or engineering careers. The staff at A Pinguela would like to thank Sara for delivering such an interesting lecture to their students.
