Major new MRC award

22 May 2017

The laboratories of Peter Cullen and Imre Berger have been awarded a £1.8M programme grant from the Medical Research Council to further their analysis of the role of the endosomal network in neuroprotection and how de-regulation of this network is implicated in neurodegenerative disease. Using a combination of approaches ranging from structural biology and in vitro reconstitution through to functional analysis in Drosophila and genetic studies of patient cohorts, the team will specifically study an ancient and evolutionary conserved multi-protein assembly termed ‘retriever’.
