We support research staff in developing their teaching in the following ways:
- Introduction to HE teaching at Bristol (runs in Autumn and Spring; see BILT events to book). Suitable for those new to teaching at Bristol. See the University’s Policy on teaching expectations of research staff including engaging in training when you start to teach.
- CREATE HEA Fellowship Scheme, which focuses on reflecting on your current teaching and leads to Associate Fellowship, Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of the HEA, depending on your role and teaching responsibilities. Suitable for a range of staff including those with modest teaching and/or learning support responsibilities.
- Unit 1 of the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice. A 30 credit level 7 unit, which focuses on reflecting on and developing your teaching, and leads to Associate Fellowship of the HEA. Suitable for staff with at least 20 hours of teaching and/or supporting learning within the same year. Apply here for the next start date
