Bristol New Music: Sebastian Gramss/ Quatuor Bozzini with Juliet Fraser

28 April 2024, 5.45 PM - 28 April 2024, 8.15 PM

Victoria Rooms, Queens Road, Bristol, BS8 1SA

Sebastian Gramss  (Cologne, Germany) is a German double bass virtuoso and composer of jazz and contemporary music, with over twenty-five releases to his name as well as a multitude of bands and ensembles. In ATOPIE, roles are reversed between speaker and bass: instead of the bass triggering a mounted, amplified speaker, a speaker-core is placed inside the cavity of the bass, turning the double bass itself into the amplifying resonator of impulses from the outside. (UK premiere)

„An awesome sonic encounter!!!“ (Downbeat, USA)

“Hochvirtuos, voller Sorgfalt im Detail – alles in allem: Ein Wunder!” (Da. Echo 2018)
