RESEARCH SEMINARS 2023-24

All seminars take place on Tuesdays 3 to 5pm, in Arts Complex: Villa 11 Woodland Road: Lecture Theatre 2 from 3-4pm, followed by a drinks reception. All welcome!

Week 10(22), Tuesday 16 April: Joint seminar with the Department of Religion and Theology, Halle O’Neal, Reader in Japanese Buddhist art, University of Edinburgh Dead Letters, 'Women as Inventors in the Buddhist Epistolary Rituals of Medieval Japan' *Please note: this seminar will take place in Arts Complex G.H01 from 4-6pm.

Week 12(24), Tuesday 30 April: Gervase Rosser, Professor of the History of Art, St Catherine's College, Oxford, 'The speaking statue gets the word out: The fame of the miraculous image in medieval England'
