Spring Online Lecture: Dinosaurs Rediscovered

21 March 2024, 6.00 PM - 21 March 2024, 7.00 PM

Online, Zoom Webinar

How fast did dinosaurs travel? How did they care for their young? And is it true that we might be able to bring them back to life…?

In a fascinating new research lecture for Bristol graduates and their friends and family, paleontologist Professor Mike Benton presents Dinosaurs Rediscovered on Thursday 21 March, 6 pm to 7 pm on Zoom.

A family friendly event for all ages, this discussion will explore how dinosaur remains are found and excavated and how paleontologists read these fossils to discover amazing new details about dinosaur lives. Professor Mike Benton will also demonstrate how researchers are using pioneering technologies to examine the bones of these prehistoric creatures.

Mike Benton is Professor of Vertebrate Paleontology and the author of The Dinosaurs Rediscovered: How a Scientific Revolution is Rewriting History (2020). A passionate educator and scientist, Professor Mike Benton was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 2018 for his research, and awarded an OBE in 2021 for his work in science outreach and engagement.

This event is suitable for all ages and we welcome children, parents and all Bristol graduates and their friends and families.

We hope to see you there!
