Support one of our awards or funding schemes to make sure a Bristol education is available to all, regardless of background and financial need.
The Futures Scholarships programme awards talented students, regardless of background and financial circumstances, a total of £4,500. The first £2,000 of funding is to help with essentials in their first year at Bristol, and a further £2,500 is for employability-focused activity, for example an internship or work placement. Futures Scholars also receive guidance and career support from a dedicated coordinator.
Bristol’s first Futures Scholars began their degrees in 2019. Our generous donors have given over £375,000 to this programme to date. Find out how these donations help students like Nieve.
The Sanctuary Scholarships programme supports Bristol students who are asylum seekers, refugees, or who have Limited Leave to Remain in the UK. Students from forced migration backgrounds frequently face barriers in higher education, including limited access to UK government student finance. The programme makes financial awards based on need. For example, students who are ineligible for other funding receive a full award towards tuition fees and living costs.
Bristol's community has already given almost £200,000 to help students like Simi find their home in Bristol.
Black Bristol Scholarships
The University’s £1 million Black Bristol Scholarship programme will support around 130 Black and mixed-Black heritage students over the next four years. With the help of alumni and friends, the programme will provide scholarships across a variety of areas - from bursaries for undergraduate students in financial need to funds for postgraduate students. We want our University to be a place where everyone feels welcome and where everyone can thrive – the Black Bristol Scholarship programme takes us another step closer to that goal.
High-performance Sports Scholarships
High-performance sports scholarships, awarded through the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship, support undergraduate students with exceptional sporting talent. A scholarship helps these students to access coaching, mentoring and other support services, so they can continue and develop their sport while studying at Bristol.
