Dr Gethin Williams - Research Computing Manager
Gethin studied computer science at the University of Sheffield and gained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence in 1999. Before joining the University of Bristol, he worked for several start-up companies exploiting Machine Learning technologies. Gethin joined the School of Geographical Sciences in 2004 as a scientific programmer and worked on several climate modeling projects, including porting the UK Met. Office’s Unified Model (UM) to the University’s HPC facilities.
Gethin has taught on the University's Department of Computer Science High Performance Computing course and works closely with the team providing large-scale, long-term storage to researchers at the University.
