Accommodation for students who have restricted mobility or use a wheelchair 

We have some wheelchair accessible rooms with adaptations such as power-assisted doors, wheelchair accessible lifts, low-level kitchen work surfaces, accessible storage and wet rooms equipped with shower chairs, handrails and emergency pull cords.  

Wheelchair accessible rooms are available at: 

• Hiatt Baker Hall (self-catered) - three accessible en suite rooms.  
• Durdham Hall - one accessible room. It is important to note that this accommodation is suitable for a wheelchair user who is bringing their own vehicle or who has an electric wheelchair capable of managing a steep incline.  
• Badock Hall (catered) - two accessible en suite rooms. Currently there are no power-assisted doors fitted in this residence apart from the door on the main building entrance. 
• Goldney Hall (self-catered)- one accessible en-suite room. It is important to note that the bedroom door is manually operated.

Rooms for students who have sensory impairments 

For students who have impaired hearing or deafness, we have rooms with alternative fire alarm systems such as flashing lights and vibrating pillows. These are available at:

For students who are registered blind, we have studio accommodation with a talking microwave, adapted hob and bump corners. This is available at:
