January arrivals (20/21 tenancies)

Bristol houses and Harbour

January applications are now closed.

Please be aware that the UK government is currently advising students to remain at home, study online and not move into their University accommodation.

Please be reassured that we are holding all rooms for our flexible arrival students until they are able to move in and they will not be charged rent while travel restrictions prevent them from arriving.

Accommodation offers

Offers for accommodation for Semester 2 have been made by email throughout December. You should have formally accepted your offer through the portal by the deadline given in your offer email. Please note that if you do not accept the offer we will be required to cancel it so that we can offer the room to another applicant.

Tenancies will run from 9 January for a single semester, but you can request a later arrival date up to 7 February. Tenancy end dates will vary depending on whether you are an undergraduate or postgraduate and which residence you are offered. Tenancy end dates for each residence are available from the undergraduate residence pages and postgraduate residence pages.

More information on our application process can be found on the New undergraduate and New postgraduate pages of our website.

Accepting your offer

Check your offer carefully. When you accept your offer, you sign a tenancy agreement which is a contract that commits you to pay rent at the rate shown for the duration of your tenancy. After you have accepted your offer, if you want to cancel your booking please read our cancellation terms

Your offer will contain a lot of information about your new residence, including the terms and conditions of living in University-allocated accommodation and the rules and regulations for your residence. You should take the time to read this information before you accept the offer so that you know what is required of you as a tenant of the University.

Next steps

After you've accepted your offer, you will see your online induction to living in University allocated accommodation appear in your accommodation portal.  It is mandatory that you complete the induction and you will not be allowed to check in to your room until you have done so. At the end of your induction, you will be able to let us know your expected arrival day. If you do not have a confirmed date of travel yet, or if you put a date of travel that has been changed, you can log back into the Portal at any time to update the date.

The University is running airport transfers in January for students moving to Bristol. Find out how to book an airport transfer on our international student pages.

You can find more useful information on our arrivals and moving in pages.

Accommodation fees

You don't need to pay any accommodation fees at this stage, as long as you have accepted your offer of accommodation you will receive an invoice after you have fully registered at University.
