Where is Tibet?![]() Tibet is situated at the very heart of Asia between the People's Repibilc of China (PRC) and India. Shangri–la, the Land of Snow, the roof of the world; due to its harsh climate and inaccessibility, the Tibetan Plateau has been one of the most isolated regions in the world, which allowed the distinctive Tibetan culture to flourish. After the China's invasion, two of Tibet's three provinces were renamed as part of the Chinese provinces, Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu and Yunnan, and the remaining province of U-tsang was renamed as Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR).
