Coppicing at Lower Woods, South Glos
14 October 2001
After the unintended success of the first Sunday trip to Midger Wood
(it rained at lunchtime so we went to the pub for the entire afternoon)
the next task was at Lower Woods. A quirk of fate brought us together with
the Avon Wildlife Trust volunteers* again, for more
uncontrolled coppicing action. As usual we did much more work than them,
but we got a dressing down on our technique
- see photo.
It wasn't until lunch that it became apparent quite how
many people were out in the woods chopping down trees! |
