People with learning difficulties want to have better things to do during the day.

The Helping Each Other For A Better World Team is a group of people with learning difficulties. They work at the Leeds Coalition. They visited places where people with learning difficulties are doing new and exciting things during the day. The team found:

 a group of different people from a day centre

People are trying very hard to change things and make things better

Some people are doing paid work.

 

They also found:

In most places the new things were not started by people with learning difficulties.
Many people were not getting proper wages. Some people were not getting paid at all. Benefit rules make it hard for people to get proper wages for their work.
