Living with another family

Carol Robinson and Ken Simons talked to people with learning difficulties who live in a house with another family.

This Plain Facts is about what they found out.

Most people liked living with another family. They got on well with the family and said that the carers were kind.

Some people did not like living in someone else's house. Sometimes they had arguments with the other people in the house.

Some people had their own door keys and had a lot of freedom. But this did not happen for everyone.
Most people thought the rules in the house were OK. Some thought they were too strict.
