Introduction
The following three exercises have been prepared for those who would like to develop their skills with EXCEL as a tool for the quantitative analysis of historical data:

• Analysis of cross-sectional data and measures of central tendency/dispersion;
• Charting the growth of public expenditure; and
• The relationship between two variables: testing party affiliation and voting behaviour.
