Session 12: Understanding deaf-hearing working

The Types

(The ideas reported here are based on a presentation to a Mental Health And Deafness Congress)

When deaf and hearing people come together to work, there are often prototypical behaviours which arise.  After many years of observation, the following types are offered as a way of understanding the reactions of deaf and hearing people.

In our case, the changes and inclusion of deaf people are often false.  Session 8 said a little about this.  In an analysis spanning a number of years , I have considered something of the types of deaf and hearing people.  We can see that they struggle.  Here are some comments about the field of mental health.
