British Council: SA, Kenya & UK Call for Trilateral Workshop Grants Now Open

8 August 2016

The Trilateral Workshops bring together early-career researchers from Kenya, South Africa and the United Kingdom to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. Joint applications are made by senior researchers from Kenya and South Africa who lead the workshop. Once funded, grants are available for early-career researchers in the UK and the partner countries to attend and participate. These grants are funded under the Newton Fund, a UK Government initiative funded by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), together with the National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa, and the National Commission for Science,Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) in Kenya. The Newton Fund aims to promote the economic development and welfare of the partner countries or, through working with the partner countries, to address the problems of low-income and vulnerable populations.
