Patient & public involvement and engagement

We strongly believe that, for clinical research to be relevant and successful, patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) is key.

We are looking for patients with a respiratory condition and/or their carers to participate in a Respiratory Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) in Research Group.

What is PPIE?

Studies with Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement are informed by the perspectives of members of the public with lived experience.

Aim of a PPIE group:

To support and advise on the development of respiratory research studies that will help us to identify the best possible ways to provide care for our patients.

What can be achieved through PPIE work?

PPIE members have the opportunity to influence and shape future respiratory research.

The impact of PPIE:

The views expressed in PPIE groups can help to:

*Provide essential patient/carer insight through lived experience

*Improve the quality of the research

*Ensure future respiratory research is relevant and of importance to patient/carers
