Iphigenia - Performances

7.30pm on 8th, 9th and 10th March 2023

Wickham Theatre Cantock's Close Bristol BS8 1UP

Believed to have been written in 1554, Jane Lumley’s Iphigenia is the first translation of Euripides’s play into English and the oldest surviving work of English drama by a woman.  The Iphigenia Project examines Jane Lumley’s remarkable play through performance practice and features three public performances.

This rare opportunity to see Lumley’s work in performance is kindly supported by the Institute of Greece, Rome, and the Classical Tradition and is part of the celebrations to mark the Department of Theatre’s 75th Anniversary.
