About MEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

This course provides full accreditation for the qualification of Chartered Engineer. The first two years are common with the BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and transfer between the courses is possible up to the end of the second year.

Years one and two provide a strong grounding in mathematics, computing, analogue and digital electronics, communications, electromagnetics, power electronics and control.

In the third and fourth years you choose from a range of optional units and individual project topics, allowing you to focus on anything from electrical power distribution and generation to electronic communications.

Cambridge Pre-U offerRequirements are as for A-levels, where Grade A* is D2, A is D3, B is M2, and C is M3
Access to HE Diploma offerPass Access to HE Diploma (Engineering, Engineering Science, Maths and Engineering, Science, or Science and Engineering) with 30 credits at Distinction and 15 credits at Merit. At least 15 graded level 3 credits at Distinction in Mathematics and 12 graded level 3 credits at Distinction in another science subject. The Mathematics units taken should include study of calculus, algebra and trigonometry. Plus A in A-level Mathematics or achieving the required level in the University of Bristol Mathematics Test.
BTEC offer DDD  in Engineering plus either A in A-level Mathematics or achieving the required level in the University of Bristol Mathematics Test
Scottish Qualifications Authority offerAdvanced Higher: AA including Mathematics, and Standard Higher: AAAAB
Welsh Baccalaureate offerRequirements are as for A-levels where you can substitute a non-subject specific grade for the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate Skills Challenge Certificate at that grade.
European Baccalaureate offer85% overall, with 8.5 in Mathematics
International qualificationsAccepted international qualifications
