Our MSc in Management (with specialism in Marketing) is an intensive one-year programme that offers you a unique opportunity to explore your interest in marketing while gaining a thorough grounding in the core theories and concepts that are central to a career in management today.
You will start by studying management theory across a range of core disciplines, including finance and accounting, organisational behaviour and strategic management. In term two you will gain a deeper knowledge and insight into marketing by studying our two marketing units. Finally, in the summer term, the dissertation provides an opportunity for independent research and links your studies to a genuine investigation around a marketing theme.
Our programme is designed for graduates of any discipline who aspire to a career in management and/or marketing. You do not need any prior academic or practical experience in business or management but you should have a curious and creative mind and a genuine interest in marketing.
You will be part of a dynamic and diverse body of staff and students in Bristol, and be taught by experienced academics. Many staff within our School of Economics, Finance and Management are actively engaged in conducting pioneering research at international level, and our school was ranked sixth in the UK for its research impact (REF 2014), reflecting the quality and contribution our research plays in shaping policy and practice in the UK, Europe and globally.

We charge an annual tuition fee. Fees for 2018/19 are as follows:

In term one you will study four core management units. In the second term, you will deepen your understanding of marketing by studying two core units that are central to this specialism. This will be supported by choosing two further management units that will broaden your skills and give further opportunity to tailor your studies to your own interests and career aspirations.
The final part of the MSc is a project-based dissertation of between 12,000 to 15,000 words in which you will research a current theme or topic in marketing. You will be able to tailor your investigation to a setting that reflects your personal interests or future career aspirations. The dissertation provides the perfect opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned in both the management and the entrepreneurship aspects of the programme. It is also a powerful way of showcasing your talent to future employers, providing you with the confidence and platform to launch your own business ideas.

The MSc Management (with specialism in Marketing) provides excellent preparation for a career or further professional training in management and marketing. Previous graduates from the School of Economics, Finance and Management have gone on to work around the world at a variety of leading companies, such as Lloyds TSB, L’Oréal, Deutsche Bank, LG Electronics, WHO-US, Hangzhou, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Marks & Spencer.
Our usual overall deadline is 1 July 2018 for entry in September 2018.
The school continues to welcome applications that fulfil our admissions criteria in order to select a balanced international student cohort. As students from different countries tend to apply at different points in the application period, applications from some countries may close earlier in the year. Due to very high demand, applications will close for students from China at 5 pm GMT on 15 December 2017.
