Applicants must possess an upper second-class degree or international equivalent qualification. Some programmes have subject-specific requirements; please refer to the postgraduate prospectus for further information.

For those applicants for whom English is not their first language, an IELTS score of 6.5 in each band is required. The exceptions to this are:
• English Literature (MA), which requires 7.0 in each band.
• Music (MA) Practical Performance Pathway, which requires 6.0 in each band.
Please note that language certificates should not be more than two years old.
Exemptions to our language requirement may apply to those applicants who have spent at least three years studying at an approved English speaking higher education institution. Applicants who feel this may apply to them should confirm this with the relevant Department.

Once a complete application has been submitted, which includes all required information, it is considered by the Programme Director and the Head of Graduate School. Applications are considered against selection criteria, which include:
Applicants are not normally required to attend interviews or auditions.

Deferred entry is available subject to approval. Please contact the Graduate School if you have been made an offer and would like to defer your start date.
If an offer is made the applicant has 40 days to indicate that they wish to accept or decline the offer, after which time the offer will expire.
International self-funded students are required to pay a deposit of £1000. Further information will be provided in your offer documents, and payment can be made online on the programme deposits payment website.
